Empowering African Communitieswith Sustainable Energy Solutions
2024, ready to ride the wind. The World Wildlife Fund, in conjunction with the Office of the First Lady of Kenya, the Kenya Renewable Energy Association, and the Odyssey, has launched a three-month "China-Africa Sustainable Investment Prometheus Initiative" for companies from China and Africa.
The "Prometheus Initiative" aims to help Chinese companies delve into the potential of the African market, explore new demand scenarios, and connect and cooperate with African companies that have already settled locally, jointly innovating solutions. At the same time, we are also committed to supporting African renewable energy companies, providing them with better development opportunities and support.
The "Prometheus Initiative" will cover multiple fields, including but not limited to
renewable energy, environmental protection, social enterprises, etc., aiming to promote economic cooperation and sustainable development between China and Africa, and jointly explore and realize the bright future of China-African sustainable investment.
In November 2023, the first China-African Sustainable Investment Summit, co-hosted by the China-Africa Business Council on Corporate Social Responsibility, the World Wildlife Fund, and the South-South Cooperation Financial Center, was successfully held in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya.
On this basis, we have launched the "Prometheus Initiative" to continue to strengthen exchanges between the two sides in the field of sustainable investment, to open the door to the African market for Chinese companies, and to bring growth opportunities for African renewable energy companies, and to jointly promote the in-depth development of China-Africa economic cooperation.
